Learn MoreMeaning of the LCMS Logo Cross The LCMS logo is three crosses in one. It declares that “we worship one God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity.” The open arms point upward toward God in prayer and openly receive God’s grace. The lower arms point down, as if open to embrace the world with God’s love. The 12 individual parts of the logo cross remind us of the 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles. The four arms appear to be in motion, as we urgently tell the world what God’s love in Jesus Christ means to us and, uniquely, as Missouri Synod Lutherans. http://www.lcms.org/ http://www.ni.lcms.org/
Learn MoreThe foundation of our precious Christian faith is God’s holy, precious and inspired Word. For us, the Word of God is the sole source of all that we believe, teach and confess. Because they are based on God’s Word, we also hold to the Lutheran confessional statements as found in “The Book of Concord” of 1580. We accept the Book of Concord as a faithful presentation of the teachings of the Bible. In confirmation class and adult instruction, our focus is on one of the books contained in the Book of Concord, namely, Luther’s Small Catechism and its six chief parts: The Ten Commandments, the Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, Confession and Absolution and the Sacrament of the Altar. Go to www.lcms.org for further details regarding what we believe, teach and confess as Lutheran Christians.
Learn MoreRev. Ortiz is the interim pastor and has been an ordained minister since 2008. Since then I pastored several churches including one Hispanic church. I have been blessed to arrive here at Holy Cross and seek to serve the members of the church and the community to the best of my ability. The Holy Spirit is very active here and while the harvest is plentiful there workers are few. Therefore, we will gather and encourage the faithful servants of Christ to raise more workers and together fulfill the mission God has placed in our hearts.
